Benefits of Massage --------------- https://www.facebook.com/reflexmassageballymena Massage benefits. We all know that Massage is super relaxing but there are a lot of hidden benefits that I often find people are unaware of. There are so many physiological responses within the body that occur during and after a Massage session. This article will give a brief account of some of the benefits and effects of a treatment. So the next time you are sinking into the depths of relaxation remember your whole body is benefiting too! So it’s a given that Massage is great for soothing those aching muscles and ironing out those knots around your shoulders but there’s more to it than that. During a Massage session healthy oxygenated blood circulation is being increased around the muscles, this in turn softens the muscles easing away any areas of tension, soothes those tired muscles which in turn releases any areas of tightness and increases your range of motion and improves your flexibility So it would make sense that if movement is effected by muscle flexibility then it must help our bones too? Right! By improving muscle tone and building strength we put less pressure on the Skeletal system helping to ease many conditions where bone weakness is the cause. When talking about the benefits of Massage you will most likely hear the word Lymphatic. The Lymphatic system is a series of vessels and tubes throughout the body, a major part of the Immune system it’s responsible for fighting bacteria and ridding it of old and abnormal cells. So isn’t it great to know that Massage can really help the body with lymphatic drainage, it does this by helping to break down build ups of uric acid in the body and excess fluid and flushing it out. It’s thought too, that massage done regularly helps promote healthy white blood cell production. Another big thing people want to know is, “Is Massage good for my skin?” Well yes it is. We already know that Massage flushes out toxins which is a great start in improving the condition of our skin as what’s going on inside the body is usually reflected last on the skin, so along with a healthy diet plenty of exercise and water you can add regular Massage treatments to your beauty regime. Massage improves muscles tone which can help smooth and tighten skin and can help the appearance of cellulite and break down old scar tissue by improving circulation and promoting new cell growth. So now we know some of the physical effects of Massage, how about the psychological ones. Regular Massage has been shown to relieve stress, promote relaxation, create balance and clear the mind, promote body awareness and generally has a calming effect. With so many different Massage treatments available today, how do you know what’s right for you? It’s important when seeking a treatment that you pick the most appropriate Massage for you. A Swedish Massage for example is a medium pressure treatment that’s really relaxing, great for aches and pains and stress relief whereas a Sports Massage is a deeper Massage aimed at more active people who may have a lot of tension usually due to some sort of sporting aliment. Whatever massage you chose, do it regularly and enjoy deep relaxation and reap the benefits, after all there are so many, it’s the perfect excuse for some “me time”. By Vicki @ Reflex Massage Holistic Therapy Clinic Therapeutic Massage vs Relaxation Massage30/8/2016 Hi all I thought I'd take a few moments to explain the differences between these two forms of treatment. I often get asked by clients which is better for them, what are the differences etc. So here's a little info on both.
... Relaxation, Spa, etc Massage are usually done in a spa/beauty salon like environment, these type of massages are designed to induce deep relaxation with a focus on pampering, stress relief, balancing the body & bringing calm to the mind. The techniques used are often Swedish Massage techniques which involve long light-pressure sweeping strokes, gentle kneading & frictions. Often combined with Aromatherapy or other spa treatments. Therapeutic, Holistic, Remedial Massage is usually done in a Holistic, Chiropractic, Phyiso etc type setting. The focus of these types of massage is to improve a physical condition such as back pain, sciatica, muscle tension etc. A variety of massage techniques are used & sometimes pain or discomfort occurs during a session as the therapist works on a deeper tissue level to get to the root of the problem. A treatment plan & further appointments may be necessary to fix the problem. Both these types of massage are effective & beneficial to health. When deciding where & what type of massage you should go for its important to remember why you want one in the first place, is it stress relief & relaxation you need or have you an on going physical condition that needs attention. At Reflex Massage Holistic Therapy Clinic we provide both types as we are a Holistic centre we aim to treat the person as a whole. We use Swedish, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Acupressure and many more Massage techniques during treatments, we adjust techniques to suit each client & do not follow set routines as everyone is different. So I hope this helps you in deciding your treatment. For more info & bookings Call 07756091233. We are thrilled to welcome Stephen Mcfarland of Inspired Counselling to the clinic.

I have to say it wasn't all plain sailing we had one unfortunate incident the other day in which the door to the treatment room got jammed and it took 3 burly men and all their might to break it open!! I'm just glad I was on the other side with phone in hand or I would have been trapped, hanging out the window yelling for help lol but alas all is well now and sure there's always a few teething probs to be worked through. Our 10% off promotion attracted lots of lovely newbies and we have been inspired to get our workshops up and running very soon. There's talk of a Reiki share group for practitioners and the meditation class is in the pipeline. We are open to suggestions if y'all have any. Please send us ideas about what you'd like to see. We are also hoping to host other therapists so if you are a therapist looking somewhere to work from get in touch. Well thats all for now so once again BIG THANKS to all you newbies and to friends and family for your continued support, see ya all soon, Vicki x Hey everyone we have been super busy getting the new clinic ready, there's still lots to do but progress is being made lol just to let you all know we are still taking bookings at the other clinic so feel free to make an appointment, also World Reflexology Week 2014 is coming up mid Sept so there will be lots of exciting Reflexology related stuff to look out for.
