By Vicki @ Reflex Massage Holistic Therapy Clinic Therapeutic Massage vs Relaxation Massage30/8/2016 Hi all I thought I'd take a few moments to explain the differences between these two forms of treatment. I often get asked by clients which is better for them, what are the differences etc. So here's a little info on both.
... Relaxation, Spa, etc Massage are usually done in a spa/beauty salon like environment, these type of massages are designed to induce deep relaxation with a focus on pampering, stress relief, balancing the body & bringing calm to the mind. The techniques used are often Swedish Massage techniques which involve long light-pressure sweeping strokes, gentle kneading & frictions. Often combined with Aromatherapy or other spa treatments. Therapeutic, Holistic, Remedial Massage is usually done in a Holistic, Chiropractic, Phyiso etc type setting. The focus of these types of massage is to improve a physical condition such as back pain, sciatica, muscle tension etc. A variety of massage techniques are used & sometimes pain or discomfort occurs during a session as the therapist works on a deeper tissue level to get to the root of the problem. A treatment plan & further appointments may be necessary to fix the problem. Both these types of massage are effective & beneficial to health. When deciding where & what type of massage you should go for its important to remember why you want one in the first place, is it stress relief & relaxation you need or have you an on going physical condition that needs attention. At Reflex Massage Holistic Therapy Clinic we provide both types as we are a Holistic centre we aim to treat the person as a whole. We use Swedish, Shiatsu, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Acupressure and many more Massage techniques during treatments, we adjust techniques to suit each client & do not follow set routines as everyone is different. So I hope this helps you in deciding your treatment. For more info & bookings Call 07756091233.
